6 Instagrammable Spots in Auckland City

1. Nelson Street Cycleway

This hot pink cycleway is unlike most bike paths you'll see. Cyclists and joggers alike share this path. At night, the LED light poles along the path turn on and change colors, making for some vivid photos.

2. Snickel Lane

Snickel Lane is great for many reasons. Aside from the giant Snickel Lane sign that makes for a perfect Instagram photo, you'll find delicious eats and coffee in this hipster alleyway (check out Ika Bowl!). It's the perfect break from walking around in the city.

3. Mount Eden

Hike 10 minutes to the top of a now dormant volcano! You'll not only get views of the city from up high, but you'll also see a giant crater.

4. Viaduct Harbor

You'll catch a view of yachts and boats with the city as a backdrop. This is also a popular nightlife spot where people can pop into one -- or several -- of the many bars and restaurants along the harbor.

5. Sky Tower

At more than 300 meters, the Sky Tower provides another view of Auckland City. You can also catch a glimpse of a brave soul bungee jumping 192 meters off the Sky Tower -- or be that brave soul. Don't forget to take note of the view of the Sky Tower from below.

6. Wander around the city

Okay, this doesn't really count as a sixth place, but beautiful photos can be taken anywhere. I took the photo below while waiting for an Uber at Auckland Airport just because I liked the morning light. So, get lost in the city. You'll find something.
